About the 42 Soul-Signature Strengths Model

The “42 Soul-Signature Strengths” (42-SSS) is a holistic strengths model that organizes psychological resources into actionable strengths.

The 42-SSS model is comparable to strengths models such as CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder 2.0) and the VIA-24 Character Strengths. However, the 42-SSS stands apart with its holistic focus and gamification. It includes work and relationships, but also psychological aspects of physical health, technology, and spirituality.

Additionally, the 42-SSS model includes a extensive number of strengths. This is because 1) of the additional holistic strengths in the model, and 2) because strengths were designed to be directly actionable.

“The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is…42!”

– The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The 42 Soul Signature Strengths also form an interconnected whole, where the focus shifts from leaning only on your highest strengths (for example, top 5) to using virtually all 42 strengths. The 42 strengths connect in an integrated way where the interplay between different strengths fosters a more balanced functioning. For example, the focus is still on your top 5 strengths, like in other systems, but all 42 strengths are used to balance them out.

The 42 Soul-Signature Strengths model also includes unique elements such as Physical Mastery, recognizing the mind-body connection. The model draws from diverse influences such as positive psychology (e.g., Flow State, Strength-Spotter, Peer-Coaching), depth psychology (e.g., Affect Artist), science-based spirituality (e.g., Letting Go, Envisioning & Faith, Mystic). In addition, this model also incorporates insights from figures like Dr. Joe Dispenza and Dr. David Hawkins, inspiring strengths like Drive Redirection.

The 42-SSS was developed by Kris Priol, who has a B.A. in Psychology from Hungary and an M.S. in Positive Psychology and Well-Being from the Netherlands. He has also won study-abroad scholarships to study in California, where he studied abroad two times. He now lives in San Diego, California, and is currently pursuing his third psychology degree at Sofia University.

His side interests beyond psychology include science-based spirituality, meditation, and applied neuroscience.
